Wonderful cast iron Art Deco period doorstop modelled after the famous Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in North Carolina.

A simply marvelous c.1920 piece of American folk art. The actual lighthouse is the tallest brick lighthouse in the United States, known for its iconic black and white spiral design or "daymark", first applied in 1873 to help sailors navigate the dangerous waters off the coast known as the "Graveyard of the Atlantic".
